Park Pass Pro Tip

How to get through security in record time?  In both Disney World and Universal Studios, you will go through security BEFORE you show your tickets to the park.  Some tips to help keep the line moving and to keep you from getting stopped and searched.

  • Do not have weapons of any kind.  This includes mace or a flashlight.
  • If you have any metal, hold them out in front of you so they trip the machine before you go through it.  For example, sun glass cases, put them in your hands, stretch out your hands and then walk through.
  • If you have a stroller, it will get searched.  So, send 1 person with the stroller ahead of you and then meet up with that person on the other side.  Not everyone in your party needs to go with the stroller.
  • Bundle things inside your bag in clear zip lock bags.  The security team will be able to pull out and see things in an organized fashion.  They can see everything in the bag.  And it makes it easier for packing it back up with done with the search.

Recommendation

Nomad Lounge in Disney's Animal Kingdom.  I have walked by this place several times and didn't even know it was there.  It was during my research that I learned about the Churos and drinks at the Nomad Lounge.  Note, you do need to get on the waitlist and they will give you an arrival time.

The lounge is not just for adults, kids are allowed here also.  If you want air conditioning, then ask for a seat inside.  The deck outside is shaded and has great visuals of the water way that sometimes have characters floating by.
